Announcing a new collab. kit from Britt-ish Designs & Man In The Moon Designs . . .

I give you . . .

"A Knight's Tale"

Isn't it fun??! Rochelle (Man In The Moon Designs) and I had such an awesome time dreaming up this regal mega-kit! It's seriously enormous!! And full of all sorts of goodies. Be sure to read to the end of this post so you can grab an add-on freebie from me and one from Rochelle too!

Here's what I scrapped with it. Some pictures from the Magic Kingdom.

And check out all the wonderful LOs the Britt Girls created!! There are a LOT OF THEM!! And they all rock . . .

This kit has SO MANY uses! From baby boys, to daddy's girls, to castles both old and new. You can see how the kit can also transform with a little recoloring! That's whats so great about digital scrapping. I'm really thrilled with this kit! I will definitely be putting it to good use on more my own pages in the future.

Alrighty - that's all I have to release today, so let's go ahead with the Show Offs.

a sneak peek 4 u

Hey guys!! I have a VERY fun collab. kit to release tomorrow! I'm not telling you who I collaborated with yet, so you'll have to wait and see! But I WILL give you a sneak peek. . .

I can't wait to show you the full kit tomorrow. Not to mention what beautiful things my Britt Girls have created with it!

I have a few pages to share. I haven't scrapped TOO much this week, but I do have a few pages to share. Plus a couple from last week that I didn't post.

This first one was my entry for the MouseScrappers challenge this week. If you are a Disney scrapper and haven't been joining in the fun challenges each week at MouseScrappers - what are you waiting for?! It's so fun!!

This one I did a WHILE ago for the SM Newsletter. The team was asked to scrap an anniversary, since our newsletter just had its 1 year anniversary!

I'm proud to say that this next one just won me a $10 GC to Dani Mogstad's store! I did a challenge on her team blog and WON!!

{credits}

And another one for a different challenge on Dani's team blog . . .

This is the page I did for the Monday morning Speed Scrap this week. That was a fun Speed Scrap. Not too many people were there, but we still had lots of fun chatting and scrapping.

Ok one more page. This one I did for Mira Designs' CT last week! This is my cutie nephew Noah when he turned 2 about 11 months ago. teehee

Well, our Book Club last night went really well. Lots of really interesting discussion about the book. YUMMY dinner & my mom even made us each a very cute beaded bookmark! Thanks for hosting, Mom! It was a very fun night!

We had another appointment with the LASIK docs EARLY this morning for Josh. They said his left eye has improved a LOT since they last saw him and that they expect it to be 20/20 just like the right eye over time. Apparently each eye heals differently, and his left eye still has some edema in it (which just means its swollen and retaining moisture) and that once the edema releases out completely he'll have crisp vision just like his right eye. So - so far no touch ups or anything like that needed! WHEW!! We'll go in again in 3 weeks. I'm so happy he's doing so well that his surgery worked so well! He's so blessed. WE'RE so blessed!

Alright, that's enough babbling from me - I'm headed to the grocery store. TTFN!

Any readers out there?

Did you guys know I'm in a Book Club? I've been in one for years, but recently we had a little summer hiatus. All my aunts and a few cousins from my Mom's side of the family make up the club. And tomorrow night we are picking it back up again! YAY!!

This month my mom is hosting, so the book was her choice. We read "Mrs. Mike" by Benedict and Nancy Freedman. Anyone out there read it? It was first published in 1947, but was released in the 80s, and then in 2002. It's sort of a "young adult classic" novel. It REALLY loved it. There were some parts where I just couldn't put it down. Totally great book. I can't WAIT to talk about it with all the ladies tomorrow night.

I decided I'd review the books I read each month for book club here on the blog too, in case anyone out there is looking for a good book to read. "Mrs. Mike" is an easy read. Like I said, I'm pretty sure its considered young adult fiction. So, you will be able to read it quickly. I loved learning about the Canadian Wilderness and the native people there. I've never read a book set in this type of setting. It was fascinating. The story is about Kathy who travels from her home in Boston to visit an Uncle in Canada and her life changes forever. Sometimes I was laughing, sometimes I was cringing, sometimes I was reading as fast I could to find out what happened next and sometimes I was even crying. There are parts where it seems to get a little slow, but just keep reading because it will pick up and have you breathless again very soon!

Mrs. Mike is a great read for any age. I'd say even a 13 year old reader would enjoy it. It's squeaky clean. Nothing inappropriate at all. I give it an A!

So, on Wed. night I'll be at book club, so i won't be able to be at the Speed Scrap at SM.

Amber is hosting and there's an awesome Thanksgiving word art prize! So everyone should head over and Speed Scrap. I'm sorry I'll have to miss out on the fun.

And one more little announcement before I sign out. ScrapMatter is looking for a new team of "ScrapMatters Girls". Basically the SMG as we call 'em, leave comments in the gallery, nominate the Layout of the Week and Layout of the Month, monitor the gallery, welcome new members and conduct interviews for the SM blog each week. It's a VERY fun position on the SM team!! And for the work you do, you get gift certificates and all kinds of great stuff.

The call ends this Thursday, so hurry and apply if you're interested!!

Ok I have a million things to do, so I gotta go. I have the HUGEST pile of laundry to fold. Not to mention tons more to send through the wash. I have to clean my house! Josh and I are hosting our annual family Halloween Party on Friday. We have started the tradition of having a Halloween Party with my family and Josh's family every year. It's a TON of fun, but there's lots to do to get ready. I'm doing pretty good making my way down my party to-do list, but I am not looking forward to cleaning.

Gotta run!

Just Another Manic Monday

anyone in St. George?

Hey guys!! I am in need of a connection! Josh and I are going with my parents to St. George, Utah the weekend of Nov. 6 to watch my little brother compete in a couple of Marching Band competitions down there and we're looking for a condo. If anyone out there has a place or knows someone who lends or rents out their condo, we'd be SO HAPPY. We're not really looking to spend too much on a place, since we won't be there very much! Mostly we'll be at the competitions. So far our own search hasn't turned up with anything that's available that isn't super ritzy and pricey (besides your average Motel, of course).

Email me at designerbrittney at gmail dot com if you know a place!!

post-op

Well, everything went perfectly at Josh's LASIK surgery this morning. He already can see TONS better, albeit a little hazy which they said was to be expected. With relatively little pain, Josh has MUCH better vision just like that! LASIK = a modern marvel.

We're so happy we were able to save our money and do this for him. It's something I've wanted to do for him since we've been together. I'm just thrilled he's finally done it. It almost doesn't even seem real. Like this guy sitting behind me watching a soccer game on the TIVO just had this awesome surgery that has changed his life. AWESOME!!

I'll take him to his follow up appointment tomorrow morning, but so far, everything is going perfectly. Thank you so much for all the prayers and sweet messages you guys sent in! It's so nice to have so much support out there.

We do have his surgery on DVD, so if anyone wants to see it, I guess I could upload it. I didn't actually plan on watching them do it, but it wasn't as gross as I thought it would be, and a nice nurse sat next to me and explained everything they were doing so I did watch the whole thing on the big monitors they have set up. It was actually pretty fascinating.

I'm off to make dinner now, see you guys later!

OH and I SWEAR I haven't forgotten about my trip re-cap posts. I just haven't had any time! Between getting my new products for Friday ready, LASIK, and CT work, I haven't had a chance to write it. My last post took me over two hours to do, so I just have to find a nice chunk of time and do it. Hang in there though, I haven't forgotten!!!

exciting news!!

We went to Josh's last pre-LASIK appointment this afternoon and they told us he's finally ready for the surgery! Because he's worn hard contacts for so long, its been two months of wearing glasses, monthly appointments and waiting. But today they gave him the green light. We went to the front desk to schedule it and he's going in TOMORROW MORNING!! Sort of sudden, but we are so excited for him. Josh has been in glasses or contacts since the age of 5, so he doesn't really remember life with perfect vision. I'm so thrilled to be able to do this for him! It's sort of like a miracle.

Anyway - we need everyone's prayers that all goes well. The percentage of patients with any problems is very low, but its his EYEBALLS for crying out loud!

See you tomorrow! I'll be sure to let you all know how it went. And I'm sure I'll be twittering about it if you want to follow.

Speed Scrap tomorrow

Anyone jonesing for a Speed Scrap? There's one tomorrow afternoon at 11:00am Mountain Time.

You can see the awesome Halloween Alpha that is the prize in the SM forum.

I'll most likely be there! Hope to see lots of you there too.

I haven't posted my most recent pages in a while. And I had a LOT of CT work to catch up on after my Disney World trip, so there are a LOT of pages. I won't post them ALL today. But here are a bunch . . .

Using a new collab kit from Erica Zane and Denise Beatty called "Spot of Tea". It was perfect for a page with my sweet niece!

{credits here}

This one is for my new My Story Matters challenge that started this week. We're scrapping about fashion & trends when we were in Jr. High! SO FUN!

{credits here}

I did this at an SM Speed Scrap last week. And also entered it in the MouseScrappers challenge!

Ok one more for today. This is with some new products from Sahlin Studio AND using the FREE adorable kit from the Oct. ScrapMatters newsletter! It's the best kit. I can't believe its free! If you aren't registered for the SM newsletter, you can do so here. There's always a free little kit EVERY month!

Ok that's enough for one day. See you guys later!!

Have fun shoppin' the Manic Monday sale.

time to be bad

I think I was a little harsh and whiney in my last post about our day at EPCOT. I really did enjoy it quite a lot. All the little things that bugged me, didn't even compare to the fun time we had!! I hope that came across. SORRY if I hurt anyone's feelings!! :) I know how personally we Disney freaks take our parks!

Today it Friday and that means its time to reveal my new kit. I'm so excited!!

"It's Good To Be Bad"

While we were at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, I was totally inspired to make a Villain kit!! I'd had several requests in the past to do one, but it wasn't until I came face to face with a few baddies, I felt the ideas spark! And since there are just SO MANY fabulous Halloween kits out there right now, I thought Villains would be a good twist!!

Here the page I scrapped with it.

And, as always, there's a free add-on at the end of the post. So keep reading!!

I also have a set of word art that coordinates with the kit. . .

"You Can Quote Me: Villains"

Check out what the Britt Girls created with these new products:

Aren't they great? I love how many different types of memories they scrapped, all with the same kit! And how about that invitation?? SO CUTE!

Ok - let's enjoy some Show Offs now, shall we?

All of this week's Show Offs are getting my new "You Can Quote Me: Villains" as their gift!

If you'd like to be a Show Offs and get gifts too, find out how at the end of this post.

And here is that add-on freebie I promised you.

Download HERE.

Enjoy!

Hope you guys have a "wickedly" great weekend! I'll be at the Speed Scrap this afternoon at 12:30 MST at ScrapMatters if anyone wants to join me!! See you 'round!
